A tragic murder-suicide unfolded in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County, when 40-year-old Gary Gibson was found deceased in a second-floor bathroom of his residence on Fairfax Drive. His death was ruled a homicide by gunshot wound to the head, with his body being discovered after a house fire was reported on March 30, 2025. According to investigators, Gibson had been deceased for at least 24 hours before authorities arrived at the scene.
The perpetrator was identified as 33-year-old
Alysse Saucedo, Gibson's girlfriend, who took her own life after shooting Gibson. Saucedo was found unresponsive in the second-floor hallway of the home. Before taking her own life, Saucedo had set multiple fires throughout the house, with investigators identifying three distinct fire sources: at the front door, near the headboard in the master bedroom, and near the threshold between the master bedroom and master bathroom.
Gibson's daughter, Nyalah Parker, revealed that the relationship between her father and Saucedo had been troubled, with neighbors reporting frequent arguments and yelling. Parker indicated that her father had been planning to move out of the residence. The tragedy was compounded by the fact that Gibson had recently become a grandfather to a seven-month-old child whom he had not yet met. The incident also resulted in the deaths of four dogs, while three other dogs found outside the home were taken into care by the Dauphin County Humane Society.
Additional context revealed that the couple had been facing eviction, as the house had been foreclosed in July. The investigation into the exact motive continues, though no other suspects were involved in this case as it was conclusively determined to be a murder-suicide.
