Charles Shanklin, an 18-year-old male from Shaker Heights, Ohio, tragically lost his life on April 1, 2025, following a shooting incident inside the Shaker Heights Public Library. The event unfolded in the late afternoon, around 4:45 p.m., when authorities received an emergency call reporting gunfire at the library located at 16500 Van Aken Blvd. Upon arrival, officers found Shanklin critically injured and immediately administered CPR before transporting him to University Hospitals.
