In the late hours of a Tuesday in Oklahoma City, a dispute between two housemates tragically escalated, leaving one man dead and the other facing a murder charge. Henry Solomon Jr., a 36-year-old Black male, was shot and killed on February 25, 2025, following an altercation at his residence. The incident unfolded at a house located at 1700 Homa Ave., where Solomon lived with the man who would become his alleged killer.
Police were dispatched to the home at 10:54 p.m.
in response to a shooting call. Upon their arrival, they discovered Solomon critically wounded. He was rushed to OU Medical Center for emergency treatment, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital. His death marked the ninth homicide in Oklahoma City for the year.
Investigators at the scene quickly identified the suspect as Reyon Bruner, who also resided at the Homa Avenue home. It was determined that an argument between Solomon and Bruner had spiraled out of control, culminating in the fatal shooting. Bruner was taken into custody at the scene by responding officers.
Following his arrest, Reyon Bruner was interviewed by detectives. He was subsequently booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on a complaint of murder in the first degree. The investigation into the specific circumstances that led to the deadly altercation is ongoing, and authorities have asked anyone with additional information to contact the Homicide Tip-Line.
