On February 17, 2025, at approximately 6:21 p.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in front of a bodega located at East 187th Street and Crotona Avenue in the Bronx. Upon arrival, officers discovered 56-year-old Emilio Rosas, a Hispanic male, unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency medical services quickly transported Rosas to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
