Garry Hinson, a resident of Wadesboro, North Carolina, was found dead in his home on May 2, 2025. His body was discovered by neighbors who had noticed a suspicious odor coming from his residence. Concerned, they investigated and ultimately alerted the Anson County Sheriff's Office. Authorities arrived at the scene and identified the deceased as Hinson. An autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on May 4 confirmed that Hinson had died from a gunshot wound.
Following an investigation, law enforcement officials arrested Hinson's brother, Jamie Rorie, on May 8, 2025. Rorie, 33, was charged with murder and is currently being held at the Anson County Jail without bond. His initial court appearance is scheduled for May 20, 2025.
