On July 16, 2023, at approximately 2:16 a.m., officers from the Wadesboro Police Department responded to Atrium Health Anson, where 26-year-old Randal Vontray Sturdivant Jr. had arrived with a gunshot wound. Despite medical efforts, Sturdivant was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Investigators determined that the shooting occurred near the 300 block of Myrtlewood Drive in Wadesboro, North Carolina. Subsequent inquiries identified 23-year-old Devonte Amor Horne as a suspect in ...
