Death by Force

On December 28, 2024, 20-year-old African American male Devantae Johnson was fatally shot in Canton, Mississippi. The incident occurred at approximately 12:51 p.m. at the Canton Estate Apartments, located at the intersection of West North and Watkins Streets. According to Police Chief Otha Brown, Devantae Johnson was discovered lying face down at the entrance to Building 1, having sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest.
