In the early hours of a Tuesday in north St. Louis County, a 60-year-old man named Mark Anthony Merriel of Pine Lawn was killed. The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. on February 18, 2025, in the 4400 block of Jennings Station Road, near an Exxon gas station. When officers from the North County Police Cooperative arrived at the scene, they discovered Merriel with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
