On the evening of New Year's Eve, a burst of gunfire shattered the night on Greenwell Springs Road in Baton Rouge, leaving a 31-year-old man, James Weber, dead at the scene. The shooting, which occurred around 8:27 p.m., also resulted in another individual being wounded and subsequently transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
