On the evening of March 15, 2025, 44-year-old African American man Percy Bowman of Hazelwood, Missouri, was fatally shot in the Fairgrounds neighborhood of north St. Louis. At approximately 6:19 p.m., officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 4200 block of Peck Street. Upon arrival, they found a crowd gathered around Mr. Bowman, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
