On December 27, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Prince George’s County Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 6100 block of Oxon Hill Road in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered 29-year-old African American male Harvey D. Jones Jr. of Temple Hills suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
