On the evening of New Year's Eve 2024, a sense of festive anticipation was shattered by an act of violence in Landover, Maryland, that claimed the life of 27-year-old Michael Shipman Jr. A male resident of Washington, D.C., Shipman was discovered inside a vehicle at an Exxon gas station in the 7500 block of Landover Road at approximately 8:10 p.m., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
