On April 25, 2025, Carl Bearden, a 64-year-old Black male, was found deceased in what has been classified as a homicide. The incident took place in Gulfport, a city in Harrison County, Mississippi. Bearden, who was from Prague, Oklahoma, was shot in the 20000 block of Secretariat, off County Farm Road.
After being shot, Bearden first sought medical help in Forrest County. He later left the area in an attempt to travel back to Oklahoma, but his condition worsened along the way.
Bearden died from complications of the gunshot wound on a Sunday at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood.
The Harrison County authorities are conducting an ongoing investigation into the shooting.
