On the night of March 14, 2025, in the Eastern District of Baltimore, emergency services received a call for a shooting in the 1200 block of North Ellwood Avenue. At approximately 11:34 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers arrived at the scene to find a young man suffering from a critical gunshot wound. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Maurice Jerome Lonon, a Black male.
He was unresponsive and immediately transported to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Maurice Jerome Lonon succumbed to his injuries four days later, on March 18, 2025. Due to the nature of his death, homicide detectives were promptly notified and took over the investigation. Authorities focused their attention on a particular residence located in the middle of the same block where the shooting occurred, employing tactical tools and announcing their presence in an attempt to gain entry, suggesting a belief that the location was connected to the incident.
As of the latest reports, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The Baltimore Police Department's homicide unit continues its investigation into the death of Maurice Lonon.
