Leroy Ramos, a 47-year-old MARTA bus driver, was fatally shot on January 3, 2025, in Decatur, Georgia, during a dispute over bus fare. Ramos, who had recently moved to Atlanta from New York and started working for MARTA in October 2024, was engaged in an altercation with three juvenile suspects at the Decatur Station bus loop. The confrontation escalated, leading one of the suspects to pull out a handgun and shoot Ramos three times. The suspects fled the scene, leaving Ramos critically injured.
