Javen Lamont Turner, an 18-year-old African American male from Sparta, Georgia, was fatally shot on January 3, 2025, at the intersection of Broad Street and Miles Street. According to reports, Turner was a passenger in a vehicle when another car approached and opened fire. The attack left Turner critically injured, and he succumbed to his wounds the following day.
