In the quiet community of Middletown, Kentucky, a suburb of Louisville, the morning of March 12, 2025, was shattered by gunfire. Responding to reports of a shooting, police discovered John Thomas McQuillen, a 65-year-old male, lying wounded on Winter Springs Court. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to a single gunshot wound. McQuillen was a retired reserve deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, having served for over a decade.
