In the winter of 2025, the life of a 29-year-old man, Abdallah Abu Rubeha, was tragically cut short during a violent armed robbery in Augusta, Georgia. On the evening of January 10th, Rubeha was working as an employee at the Augusta Smoke Shop on Lumpkin Road when the events that would lead to his death began to unfold. A customer entering the shop discovered him unconscious behind the counter and immediately alerted the authorities.
First responders arrived to find that he had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he passed away the following morning.
The investigation into the homicide quickly pointed to an armed robbery gone wrong. Law enforcement identified three individuals as suspects in the violent crime: 22-year-old Terrance Walker, Antwan Herndon, and 19-year-old Terry Isiah McClennon. The search for the suspects began promptly, with investigators tracking a vehicle registered in Burke County that was believed to be connected to the crime. This led to a high-speed chase on the very night of the incident. While the driver, identified as Terrance Walker, was apprehended after the chase, two other individuals managed to escape on foot.
In the days that followed, the search for the remaining suspects continued. Antwan Herndon of Waynesboro eventually surrendered to the authorities at the Burke County Sheriff's Office. For a period, Terry Isiah McClennon remained at large, with law enforcement seeking the public's help in locating him. He was described as being 5'11' and weighing 165 pounds. The efforts to bring all suspects into custody concluded on May 11, 2025, when Terry Isiah McClennon was arrested and booked into the Richmond County Jail on a grand jury arrest warrant for murder.
The three men, Terrance Walker, Antwan Herndon, and Terry Isiah McClennon, all faced serious charges for their alleged roles in the death of Abdallah Abu Rubeha, including murder and armed robbery. The untimely death of the young store employee, who was working to build a future for himself, prompted an outpouring of grief from those who knew him. A GoFundMe page was established to assist his family with the financial burden of his funeral expenses and the cost of returning his body to his home country of Jordan for burial.
