Crystal Carter, a 35-year-old African American woman, was found fatally shot in her home in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago on the morning of February 23, 2025. Officers responded to a well-being check around 6 a.m. at her residence on the 7600 block of South Ingleside Avenue, where they discovered her unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the arm. Emergency responders transported her to the University of Chicago Medical Center, but she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
