Schenia Smith, a 42-year-old African American woman from Dolton, Illinois, tragically lost her life on September 11, 2021, in a mass shooting in the West Pullman neighborhood of Chicago. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. as Schenia and a group of people were leaving a birthday party.
