In the early morning hours of January 30, 2025, the life of Dequelle Williamson, a 44-year-old Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded at the Cobblestone Apartments on Pat Mell Road in Marietta, Georgia, where police responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 12:45 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Williamson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical aid was rendered at the scene before he was transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led Cobb County police to identify a suspect. Tonolono 'Tony' Price, a 33-year-old resident of Marietta, was identified as the alleged shooter. Later that same day, Price was taken into custody by law enforcement. He has since been charged with malice murder and aggravated assault in connection with Williamson's death.
While an arrest has been made, the motive behind the fatal shooting has not been publicly disclosed by investigators. The case remains under investigation by the Cobb County Police Department's Major Crimes Unit.
