In the quiet town of Russell, Kansas, a tragedy unfolded on an evening in late April. A Hispanic man, Robert Torres, a 49-year-old local tattoo artist, was killed in his home on Thursday, April 24, 2025. The events began when a 911 call reporting a shooting brought Russell Police Department officers to a residence in the 800 block of East 2nd Street at approximately 9:30 PM.
