On the morning of April 1, 2025, police officers in Indianapolis, Indiana, were dispatched to a residence in the 3600 block of Ralston Avenue following reports of gunfire. The incident, which occurred just after 9:30 a.m. on the city’s near northeast side, originated from a disturbance inside the home involving family members. Responding units arrived to find a chaotic scene where multiple shots had been fired during the altercation.
Inside the residence, authorities discovered two
individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was identified as Michael Lee Robertson, a 19-year-old African American male. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries. The Marion County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity the following day. The second victim found at the scene was hospitalized in stable condition and survived the shooting.
Regarding potential suspects and arrests, investigators detained a third man at the scene who was reportedly cooperating with detectives. At the time of the initial investigation, police stated that this individual was not officially considered a suspect, though his role in the fatal dispute was being determined. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department announced that they were not searching for any other persons of interest in connection with the shooting, describing the event as an isolated domestic incident contained within the home.
