Maria Izquierdo, a 38-year-old woman, was fatally shot in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago on May 4, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Laflin Street. According to police reports, a man approached Izquierdo and fired a handgun, striking her in the head. Emergency responders transported her to Stroger Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:05 p.m.
