An African-American man, Darrell Taylor, age 37, was killed in a shooting in the early hours of December 26, 2011, in Omaha, Nebraska. The incident occurred outside an apartment complex near 114th and Elm streets.

Residents in the area reported hearing as many as 13 gunshots. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Taylor, who had been shot multiple times. He was found partially underneath a vehicle, suggesting he may have been trying to take cover. Homicide detectives began the ...
