On April 1, 2012, James Lamont Edwards, a 27-year-old African American male from Omaha, Nebraska, was fatally shot near 26th Avenue and Sprague Street. Earlier that same day, Edwards had been arrested for disorderly conduct following a series of altercations outside Arthur's Bar near 114th Street and Dodge Road.
