Diondre Mitchell, a 27-year-old man, was tragically shot and killed in a double homicide on May 5, 2015, alongside Lafayette Reed in Omaha, Nebraska. Police found both men unresponsive in a residence on North 28th Street after responding to reports of a shooting early that morning. For years, the case remained unsolved, but in 2022, authorities arrested Cavin Cooper, charging him with two counts of first-degree murder and related crimes.
