In the early hours of a Sunday morning in west Phoenix, the sound of gunshots shattered the quiet of an apartment complex near 35th Avenue and Camelback Road. Responding to a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. on February 9, 2025, police discovered Ronald V. Armstrong Jr., a 50-year-old Black/African American male, suffering from gunshot wounds.
