In the spring of 2018, 82-year-old Felix Kirk McDermott, a male, was admitted to the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg, West Virginia, for treatment of pneumonia. A Vietnam veteran who had served in both the Army and the Pennsylvania National Guard, McDermott was showing signs of improvement in the days following his admission on April 6.
