Karen Delgado-Yates, a 41-year-old Latina woman, was found severely beaten on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 29, 2007, in a vacant home located at 1115 Hickory Street in Lansing, Michigan. Discovered by prospective buyers inspecting the property, she was transported to Sparrow Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries later that day. Delgado-Yates had previously experienced homelessness and had a history of involvement in prostitution.
