Kate Rich, an 80-year-old woman from Ringgold, Texas, was tragically murdered on September 16, 1982. Her disappearance led to an extensive investigation, culminating in the discovery of her remains months later. Portions of her body were found in a wood-burning stove inside the home of Henry Lee Lucas, a self-proclaimed serial killer. Lucas, who had previously served time for the murder of his mother, confessed to Rich's killing, stating that he had stabbed her before disposing of her remains.
