On June 3, 2023, 78-year-old Sharon Kay Radebaugh was found deceased in her Rowlett, Texas home. Responding to a call about an unconscious person, Rowlett police discovered Radebaugh had been fatally shot inside her residence.
Investigators quickly identified the suspect as 83-year-old Wilson Elliott from Trinity, Texas, with whom Radebaugh had previously been in a relationship. Elliott confessed to confronting Radebaugh about her new relationship and admitted to shooting her during the altercation. He was arrested on June 4, 2023, with assistance from the Trinity County Sheriff's Department and the Texas Rangers. Elliott was charged with murder, and his bond was set at $1,000,000.
