Lucy Arnett Raymer, a 32-year-old woman, was found deceased on December 26, 1996, in Asheville, North Carolina. Authorities later connected her death to William Darrell Lindsey, a suspected serial killer who had confessed to multiple murders, primarily targeting women with a history of prostitution arrests. Lindsey, who had been living in Oteen, North Carolina, since March 1996, was arrested in December of that year and held in Buncombe County Jail.
