Diana Smith McGovern, a 50-year-old woman from Asheville, NC, was found dead on September 16, 2010, in what appeared to be a murder-suicide. The Asheville Police Department reported that Diana McGovern had not shown up to work since Sunday, prompting a welfare check at her residence on Mimosa Circle. Upon arrival, officers discovered her body on the kitchen floor, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
