In the quiet town of Hampton, Iowa, the life of 32-year-old Angela Devries-Woltjer was tragically cut short on January 4, 2002. On that day, she was shot to death by her 37-year-old husband, Gordon Woltjer. The violence that unfolded was a domestic tragedy, concluding with Gordon taking his own life.
The horrific events were witnessed in part by the couple's three young children. Their 1½-year-old son was present during the murder.
His older sisters, ages 5 and 8, came downstairs to witness the aftermath of the shooting and their father's suicide.
