On June 4, 2003, the body of 34-year-old Pamela Woodring, a female, was discovered by farm workers in a rural area of Kiowa County, Oklahoma. Her naked body was found submerged in water beneath a bridge. Woodring had recently relocated to the Lawton area from Guymon and had been released from prison shortly before her death, reportedly making significant efforts to turn her life around.
The discovery of Woodring's body launched an investigation into her suspicious death, which remains an
unsolved cold case. An official cause of death has never been determined, as there were no signs of outward trauma on her body. Investigators found none of her personal belongings at the scene where her body was recovered. It is believed she may have gone missing sometime after May 2nd of the same year. At the time of her death, Pamela Woodring was a mother to three children.
No arrests have ever been made in connection with Woodring's death, and no suspects have been officially named. Her case is often mentioned in connection with a series of unsolved murders of women in the Lawton area that occurred between 1999 and 2003. These women were often found nude and left in or near water, similar to Woodring. While law enforcement has looked at potential persons of interest in some of these related cases, there has been no official link or charges filed specifically for the death of Pamela Woodring.
