authorities to a man named Ray Shawn Jackson. Known as 'The Gillham Park Strangler,' Jackson was responsible for the deaths of six women between September 1989 and April 1990. His method was cruelly consistent; he would approach women on the streets at night, often luring them with the offer of crack cocaine. He would then lead them to secluded spots, typically in or near Gillham Park, where he would strangle them from behind.
The breakthrough in the harrowing case came in April 1990. The survivor was able to provide a crucial description of her attacker to the police.
