Tonya Ward, a 23-year-old woman, was found dead on January 18, 1990, in Gillham Park, Kansas City, Missouri. Her death was part of a series of murders committed by Ray Shawn Jackson, known as "The Gillham Park Strangler". Jackson was responsible for the deaths of six women between September 1989 and April 1990, all of whom were found in or near Gillham Park.
