In the summer of 1988, the Bronx became the backdrop for a tragedy that would haunt the community for years. A 14-year-old Hispanic female named Shamira Bello disappeared from her neighborhood on July 2nd. The search for the young girl came to a grim end the very next day when her body was discovered in Pelham Bay Park at Rodman's Neck.
