In the summer of 1988, the Bronx became the backdrop for a tragedy that would haunt the community for years. A 14-year-old Hispanic female named Shamira Bello disappeared from her neighborhood on July 2nd. The search for the young girl came to a grim end the very next day when her body was discovered in Pelham Bay Park at Rodman's Neck. An autopsy would later reveal that she had been sexually abused and killed by repeated blows to the head. Her death marked the beginning of a series of slayings ...
