Josephine L. Thomas, a 73-year-old former schoolteacher, tragically lost her life on June 30, 1974, in Petersburg, Virginia. Her death was later determined to be a murder, as she was injected with lidocaine, a heart depressant, while she was a patient in the coronary care unit at Petersburg General Hospital. This shocking crime was part of a series of suspicious deaths that occurred in the hospital during that time.
