Arlie Jackson Lanning, a 52-year-old white male, passed away on February 16, 1952, in Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. His death was later revealed to be the result of poisoning, orchestrated by his wife, Nannie Doss, who became infamously known as the "Giggling Granny" or "Lonely Hearts Killer."
