In the quiet setting of Allegheny Township, Blair County, a tragic event unfolded on March 11, 1976, that would cut short the life of 18-year-old George Karns. A male, working as the sole attendant at the Shaw Oil Company gas station, Karns was shot five times in the head during the course of an armed robbery, resulting in his instant death.
