In the early morning hours of April 19, 2008, the quiet of a north St. Louis neighborhood was shattered by the discovery of a grim scene. Inside a car parked in the 3800 block of Harris Avenue, the bodies of three men were found, each having been fatally shot. One of the victims was identified as 31-year-old Keith Burks, a male resident of the 4900 block of St. Louis Avenue. The other two men were 46-year-old Linnie Jackson Jr. and 33-year-old Al Walters.
When police arrived around 2:45 a.m., they found the vehicle riddled with bullet holes, the engine still running, and the driver's foot on the brake. Investigators recovered numerous shell casings from a nearby alley, a testament to the violence that had unfolded. Neighbors would later report hearing as many as nine gunshots around 1:30 a.m.
For years, the triple homicide remained unsolved, a cold case that offered no immediate answers or justice for the families of the victims. The investigation, however, was far from dormant. It was part of a much larger and more complex federal probe into a violent drug trafficking ring that had been operating in St. Louis. This extensive investigation, involving multiple law enforcement agencies including the FBI and the DEA, slowly began to unravel a web of crime that would ultimately lead them to a single, ruthless individual.
The breakthrough in the case came with the indictment of Anthony 'TT' Jordan, the leader of a significant cocaine trafficking operation. Jordan's reign was marked by a brutal code of enforcement, where he used violence to protect his empire, eliminate rivals, and silence anyone who dared to cooperate with law enforcement. Evidence gathered during the investigation revealed that Jordan was responsible for a string of murders spanning several years, with the deaths of Keith Burks, Linnie Jackson Jr., and Al Walters being among them. According to trial testimony, Al Walters was Jordan's primary target that night, with Burks and Jackson being tragic collateral damage in Jordan's violent enterprise.
In February 2025, a federal jury found Anthony 'TT' Jordan guilty of a multitude of charges, including conspiracy to distribute cocaine and nine counts of using a firearm to cause death during a drug-trafficking crime. The evidence presented at trial was overwhelming and painted a chilling picture of Jordan's brutality. Among the pieces of evidence was the discovery of images of some of his victims on his phone. In May 2025, Jordan was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences in prison, plus an additional five years, finally bringing a measure of justice to the families of Keith Burks and the other victims of his violent reign.
