On January 4, 2017, the life of 22-year-old Daikel Fletcher came to a violent end in St. Louis, Missouri. Police officers responded to a call on the 3200 block of Dodier Street, located in the St. Louis Place neighborhood, where they discovered the young man behind a residence. He was found unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the arrival of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the city's first homicide case of that year.
