In the winter of 2020, a young Black/African American man's life was cut short in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Raequese Jayvon Wright, a 21-year-old male from Springfield, was fatally shot on the evening of Saturday, January 11, 2020. The incident that claimed his life unfolded just after 7 p.m. in the downtown area of the city, marking a weekend of violence in Holyoke.
