In the early evening of Saturday, April 18, 2026, the city of Holyoke, Massachusetts, was struck by a sudden act of violence that claimed the life of a young man. Robert Abreu, a 31-year-old male, was in the vicinity of 139 Sargeant Street when the sound of gunshots shattered the day's calm at approximately 5:39 p.m. When Holyoke Police Department officers arrived at the scene, they found Abreu suffering from a gunshot wound.
