In the quiet suburbs of St. Louis, a young man's life was cut short in a burst of violence that has, to this day, left his community searching for answers. Eighteen-year-old Jason Moody II, a Black male, was shot and killed on the evening of September 16, 2015, in Berkeley, a municipality within St. Louis County. The incident occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m. in the 8600 block of Frost Avenue, within the Frost Apartments complex.
According to the Berkeley Police Department, Moody was involved in an ongoing dispute with another Black male. On that fateful Wednesday evening, the argument escalated, tragically culminating in gunfire. Moody sustained fatal gunshot wounds, and the unidentified shooter fled the scene, disappearing into the surrounding neighborhood. Despite the passage of time, the case remains an open homicide investigation.
Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in the murder of Jason Moody II, and no arrests have been made.
