On September 4, 2004, Claudette Juniel, a 31-year-old woman from Kansas City, Missouri, was found dead in a way that suggested someone wanted her to disappear rather than simply be discovered. Her remains were located in a vacant lot near 27th Street and Olive, a forgotten pocket of ground where brush and debris could hide what no one wanted to face.
