On February 7, 1993, four-year-old Jeremy Barron, a white male, was discovered unconscious in his bed by a babysitter in his family's home near Sacramento, California. Despite immediate medical attention, Jeremy was pronounced dead. His death followed the unexpected passing of his mother, Irene Barron, a 34-year-old white female, who had been found deceased in her bed on June 6, 1992.
