Guillermo Graniela, a 30-year-old Hispanic male, was found dead on August 29, 1981, in the basement of an abandoned house in the Bronx, New York. His hands and feet were bound with rope, and a rope tied around his neck had a screwdriver inserted in the knot, twisted to strangle him. The method of his murder was ligature strangulation, a technique used by his killer to ensure the victim's death by tightening the ligature beyond hope of escape.
