Richard M. Glover, a 39-year-old white male, met a tragic end on June 14, 1901, in San Antonio, Texas. Sheriff Glover was serving his second term as Sheriff of Gonzales County when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred while he and Posseman Henry Schnabel were attempting to arrest a suspect for the murder of Karnes County Sheriff W.T. Morris.
